“Ordinary is where we all live most of the time. And yet our mundane, repetitive days are full of enduring work. Homes are being built. Families are being knit together. Little souls are being shaped for eternity.

The tedious is, in fact, momentous—when done for the sake of Christ: ‘…so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior’ (Titus 2:10).

This truth can get lost in piles of laundry and dirty dishes. We need help to see the glory peaking out from behind the ordinary.”

No problems in getting these ballerinas to pose for me before their class today :)

Maddy’s been dancing since she was 3, and still loves it just as much now as she did back then.  A Gift of Dance in Lynden is an amazing studio, we are so happy to have something so fabulous so close to home!

This past week Maddy & Joey came running to me all excited about an idea they had…

“Mom, Mom…  can we have a favorite toy party with our cousins?!  We made an invitation and everything!”

What do you even say to that?  Haha.  What even is a favorite toy party?

“It’s a party where they come over and bring their favorite toys and we play with them!”  Duh Mom.  “Didn’t you ever have one when you were a kid?!”  Horrified looks on their faces.

So, the invitation was given.  Today was the favorite toy party.  I remembered last night and quickly made a cake.  As you can tell by the amazingly decorated cake,  there is a reason I hire my talented sister to make my kids birthday cakes :)    The kids didn’t care though, what it looked like, and were thrilled with the cake anyways.

The favorite toys consisted of two pillow pets, an American girl doll and two stuff animals (Evan’s is by his head).  What a bunch of softies all these Browns are :)   For the record, Joey’s original choice was lego, then his football… but good ole “Teedy” won out in the end.
