Us

March 20, 2009

Just thought I’d post a couple recent ones of my sweeties :) Had to pull out the new camera on them too! God has been so good to us, sometimes Eric and I sit back and say “I can’t believe we have 3 kids!”. We are so thankful everyday for them, and it is our prayer that they grow to love the Lord and want to serve Him.

In a week or so my Maddy will be 5 years old! I can’t believe my “baby” is getting so big. I know every mom says that, and it’s so cliche.. but … well… it’s so true! We’ve come along way from a bald little blue eyed baby to a blonde little lady who knows how to read! She really is beautiful, both on the outside, but more importantly on the inside as well. We are enjoying every minute of seeing her transform into someone with thoughts and cares and needs, instead of just someone whose diaper I change :) (not to say the baby stage isn’t wonderful too!). She just loves her brothers, and generally is so good to them. Sigh. What can I say, I have the greatest daughter in the world!

And I know this pic isn’t that great, and focus is in the wrong place, but I love it anyways. Joey is growing up too, and shocked me a couple weeks ago when he handed me a piece of paper with some people on it. I had no idea he knew how to draw people! Now he’s working hard on learning to write his name (thankfully Joey is a pretty easy one to do!), all with own determination. I adore this little man. He is so challenging, and frustrating at times, but with that comes the other end of the spectrum – he is so fun and full of life and knows how to make me laugh! Life is never boring with Joey around :)

And who could forget about my littlest sweetie, Evan. He melts my heart everyday with his smiles, kisses and hugs for Mom. I’ve been told I’ve gotten soft.. and well… it’s not my fault I have such a cute baby! 7 months old already… and still not sitting or rolling much – but we’ll get there I’m sure! I don’t mind for him to stay little!

And I thought I’d throw this one in too. This past Sunday my whole family (aren’t I blessed!) got together one last time before my littlest bro Reece heads off to Marine Corps bootcamp. He was supposed to leave Sunday the 22nd, but it has been bumped up two weeks later (bummer for him!). We thought we’d seize the moment and get a family shot… and here we are. We are going to miss Reece dearly, but are very proud that he wants to serve his country and feels called to do so. For those who are wondering who is who… my parents are in the middle, I’m the oldest, the bottom left, then my brother Kyle at the top right, then my sis Rianne at the bottom right (green shirt – and a cute baby bump!), then Reece beside Dad, and last but not least the “littlest” sister, Julia in green in the middle bottom. The rest are spouses and kids :)

That’s what my dear friend J’s life is filled with!  Remember the sweet newborn I posted about a few weeks ago? Well, now it was his 3 older brothers turn to get a new pic for the mantle :) So off J and I went to the park with our 7 (WOW!) kids, and after letting them play for a while we found some shade to snap a few shots (with my new camera none the less!!). About the only time I dislike the sun is when I’m trying to get a good angle on a wiggly kid and all I have is glare and shadows!
Anyways, just sharing one of each boy … enjoy!
