What better way to spend an afternoon than lounging around with my dear sister and our kids.    I’ve had this cold that has been kicking my you know what, so it was nice to not have to worry about anything and just sit around and enjoy a cup of tea and some good company.   Of course the Canon made it’s appearance again, and we managed to get in a few maternity shots and some shots of funny little Ally.  Rianne looks so amazing for being 36 weeks pregnant, as you will see!   I can’t wait to meet my new little neice/nephew soon….

Without further ado…

Miss Allyson’s almost two!

What do you think… Black and white?

Baby session

May 28, 2009

Had a wonderful time having coffee/lunch with my aunt, uncle and dear little cousins a couple of weeks ago – and of course seized the opportunity to haul out the good ole Canon.  Here are a few of my littlest cousins (yes, some of my cousins are younger than my own kids!!).

Nothing could’ve made me happier last Saturday than to take some family pics for my dearest friend and her beautiful family!  Not only did the pics turn out great, but I really feel that their family essense was captured – that makes me walk away from a session feeling giddy!

L and I have been best friends since high school, and since then have never lived more than 30 mins apart.  This fall, L and H and their munchkins are leaving the beautiful NW for the sunny and warm Australia for a year or so.  :( for me, :) for them…    I will miss being able to call my sounding board at any time of day (although I could wake her up in the middle of the night… hmmmm), miss seing our kids get into trouble together, miss our sewing parties (since when did we get so OLD!), miss making a quick call cause I’m having a brain fart on what to make for dinner, miss acting so weird to the point our kids are questioning their mothers sanity…   sigh, there is so much I’m going to miss – BUT, I am SO excited for them to be embarking on this exciting journey.   That excitement overrules my sadness about it :)   and alas, it’s only a year!

On to the pictures!   We started off in quaint downtown Lynden…

Noah is spelt T-R-O-U-B-L-E  :)    but that little guy melts my heart!

You can even see Chloe’s pretty “nee-noes”.  Joey and her are in love.

I couldn’t pick just one of these….

and off we went to find a field with long grass.    we didn’t get the memo that the night before was “grass-cutting night” for the farmers, so it took a bit of driving, but we found one!

This pic cracks me up…

Not only is Lisa beautiful on the outside, she is a remarkable mother, inspiring friend and truly a God-fearing woman.  Love you Lis!

That’s it for now folks!    What a fun session with fun people!  I love my job!

Can you believe it’s been over 3 months old already since I photographed the newborn baby K?! So cute and chubby now, he sure reminds me of his big brothers.

With all of these sessions lately I haven’t gotten around too much to pulling out the camera for “non-work” related stuff, but tonight I told myself I’d look at the few pics I do have from the past month or so.   I am sitting here while my kids are sound asleep in bed – and am just reflecting at how thankful I am.   Three happy, healthy and beautiful children – God has blessed Eric and I so richly.  I feel so humbled that He has entrusted these wonderful little people into our care.  It is my prayer that we do the best job we can to teach them about our Gracious and Awesome God!  That being said, I just have to share some recent shots of my sweeties, enjoy!

A couple of weeks ago my mom, Lisa and I and the kids headed down to Mt. Vernon to check out the tulip fields.  It was a beautiful day, and the fields were in full bloom.  God’s handiwork was so beautifully displayed in the many different colors and varieties of tulips.   It was a nice and relaxing day – until we tried to gas up and were told there was gas leaking out of the tank at the station… and a guy at the tire center told Lisa that she better have her dad take a look at it when she got home.  HAHAHA…  did he not notice the truck was stuffed full with strollers and 5 kids?    We had a good laugh, and thankfully made it home in one piece.

Anyways, here are some purty flowers with an even purtier girl.

Joey is SO hard to catch on camera, it’s unbelievable.  This picture typifies him in a “serious” moment.  Furrowed brow and all.    And for the record, I did no editing on those lashes, they really are that long and thick.   How is that my boys got long, thick lashes and poor Maddy got short, light ones?  Go figure.

I can hardly believe Evan is 9 months old today (hmm, or was is yesterday?)!   My little baby!  :(    He is just such a little sweetheart, I can’t get over him.  He’s loving his “new” playpen from Auntie Lisa…   a great way to keep him out of harm’s way.  He doesn’t move around yet, so the playpen is more just to keep him away from a certain 3 yr old brother of his :)   Oh, and check out those chompers!

That’s it for now :)   Until next time!

Well, I’m finally getting around to posting some pics of this precious baby girl!   Lots of great shoots = lots of editing.   Since my hubby is out without me on a Friday night, what better thing to do then get caught up on some things – especially after spending the day in the sun with the kids and friends at the zoo!

Anyways,  I had the recent pleasure of photographing a baby girl!  First one I’ve had in a long time…  I want to say the last time was my almost two year old niece!    Now, this sweet girl’s mother is a master with a sewing machine – she is truly amazing.  So when I saw some of her work, and some fabric I liked I offered up a trade…  a photo session for her newborn for this diaper bag (which i LOVE LOVE LOVE!).   (hope you don’t mind me sharing the pic Jen, it’s just too good not to!)  She said Yes and the rest is history.

Baby A was born on our moving day, so this photo shoot happened a little later then I usually like, but thankfully at 2 and bit weeks she was still very snuggly and squishy.   Without further ado…..

Isn’t she precious?  All snuggled in a beautiful blanket her mom made. Tthis pic doesn’t do the blanket justice, but it is gorgeous.  Of course, the baby is even more gorgeous!

I love how bald she is :)   Takes me back 5 years to when Miss Maddy was a tiny, bald little peanut.  Sigh, were does time go?!

IMG_6637colorweb

Sorry for how long this took Jen!  Thanks again for the diaper bag, and I hope you love your pics as much as I love the bag!

Thanks to Craigslist I got to meet Dan and Brianna this past weekend – and what a great time we had!  The weather was PERFECT for a photo session… no rain, overcast sky and not too cold.   I enjoyed getting to know Dan and Bri a bit – and capture this exciting time in their lives for them.   They are planning a September wedding in Maui – how NICE does that sound?!   It also was a breath of fresh air for me to break out of the kid/newborn mold for a session (not that I don’t LOVE those…  but this was just a nice break..  :) ) and work with adults for a change.

Without further ado, here are a few of my faves from the session.

We started off by the water in beautiful Boulevard park…  it was surprisingly busy for an overcast morning at 9:30!  But we were easily able to work around the people and come up with some pretty awesome stuff!

img_6453colorweb

On the boardwalk is where we did the most waiting for people to pass, but I think the waiting was worth it!  (doesn’t Bri have the most AMAZING hair?!  I want it!)

So in love…

And then it was off to Fairhaven where I spotted this gem of a brick wall.    This shot is just one of many.

Thanks again guys!  I’m glad we finally found a date that worked for both of us, and I hope  you enjoyed your sneak peak.  Stay tuned for more!

Time to pull out the camera again after the big move – this time to take some pics for a dear old work friend of mine.  We go way back to the early days at Premier, and I have such fond memories of those days.  So, what an pleasure for me to be able to photograph T’s new baby boy last week.    I can already tell how great of a mom T is going to be – she has so much love and patience for the little guy already.  Thanks T, for letting me into your home, and for giving me the chance to photography your little sweetie.   Congrats again!   I’ll email you soon with a birth announcement proof!

The new mom – isn’t she gorgeous?
